Benefits of technology

This patented technology involves cleaning and cutting off seafood creatures (fresh water shrimp) like clams or other shellfishes that contain large amounts of salts such as calcium). These soluble substances can be extracted from them through various methods including acids. After this process, they are separated out onto different types of filters called nanofilters made up mostly of polyethylene glycol polymers. Collagens dissolved during these processes help make it easier to separate the molecules making up each type of material. By treating the resulting solutions containing both hydroxyproline and histidine residues along their three main strands, we found that there were very few remaining amino acids left after extracting all those materials together. Additionally, when comparing two new samples taken at once, our research showed how well the final products had been prepared without any impurities due to the presence of excessive sodium chloride.

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical problem addressed in this patents relates to improving the efficiency of producing pure lysozygelatin type bacteria called Cryptothermus hormoneucleate(CCH) due to its ability to break down complex structures like trihelices associated with these bacilluses such as those found naturally occurring throughout many parts of our world's oceans including seafood production sites. Current techniques involve expensive procedures involving harsh conditions, complicated processes, solvent separation/concentrations, and purification steps. Therefore, an improved technique needs to overcome limitations caused by current technologies without compromising certain properties required for successful applications.

Abstract

The invention relates to a preparation method of fresh jellyfish collagens. The preparation method comprises the following steps of: selecting fresh jellyfishes as raw materials, removing antennas, cleaning and cutting into small square blocks; adding the small square blocks into an acetic acid solution, dipping and extracting for 2-3 days; filtering and collecting a filtered solution; performing electrodialysis on the filtered solution and collecting desalted liquor; making the desalted liquor flow through an ultrafiltration membrane with molecular mass of 5000-10000 Da and performing ultrafiltration, purification and concentration to obtain a concentrated solution; and freezing and drying the concentrated solution to obtain collagen powder. The fresh jellyfish collagens which are prepared by the preparation method is extracted by using an acid process to furthest keep triple-helical structures of the fresh jellyfish collagens; and according to the preparation method, electrodialysis is carried out before performing ultrafiltration to remove high valent salts and coordinates with the ultrafiltration to reduce salt content of collagen products, so purity of the products is high. Crude collagen liquor has the advantage of low electrodialysis cost and is easy to achieve industrialization.
