Problems solved by technology

[0010] 1. The number of keys involved in character input is large, and the distance between the involved keys is relatively large, which makes the function keys of the remote control complicated and the size cannot be miniaturized;
[0011] 2. When entering characters, it is necessary to constantly shift the line of sight between the remote control and the TV, which is prone to visual fatigue

Abstract

The invention provides a method for inputting characters into display equipment by using a remote controller. The method comprises the following steps of: (a) displaying an input frame and a soft keyboard in response to a character input request sent by the remote controller, wherein the soft keyboard comprises a plurality of groups of preset single characters or character strings; and each group of character strings comprises four characters at most; (b) moving a focal point onto a target character in response to a position moving command sent by keys on the remote controller, wherein the keys on the remote controller include a direction key and a confirmation key; and (c) inputting the target character into the input frame in response to an input confirmation command sent by the keys on the remote controller. Due to the adoption of the method, the distance between the needed keys is shortened, the character inputting speed is increased, transfer of a vision line between the remote controller and a television is avoided, visual fatigue can be relieved, input errors can be avoided, and the user experience is improved greatly; and meanwhile, the aim of reducing the size of the remote controller used in the method by reducing functional keys on the remote controller can be fulfilled.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of communication, in particular to a method for inputting characters to a display device by a remote control. Background technique [0002] With the enrichment of content and the development of technologies such as the Internet, how to use a remote control to quickly input characters to a TV is an urgent problem that needs to be solved. [0003] like figure 1 and figure 2 Shown is the most commonly used input method at present, in which the number keys 1-9 on the remote control are multiplexed. When the Chinese character "Ming" needs to be input, the following steps need to be performed: [0004] A, the TV enters the interface for inputting characters; [0005] B. Press the "6" key, "4" key, "6" key and "4" key in turn on the remote control, the TV will appear as follows figure 2 interface shown; [0006] C. Press the down key in the direction keys on the remote control to move the focus to th...
