Embodiment Construction

[0046] In the following content, the present invention is described in more detail through two specific examples. In a first embodiment (hereinafter referred to as single point system), the waterborne vessel is equipped with a hoisting winch and a discharge hook. In this embodiment, the vessel is preferably also equipped with a payer winch and a payer load hook at or near the stern. In a second embodiment (hereinafter referred to as the dual-point system), the waterborne vessel has a hoisting winch and an unloading hook mounted on one side of the watercraft's center of gravity, and a hoisting winch and a discharge hook mounted on the other side of the center of gravity. Unload the hook. Other embodiments, eg comprising more than two sets of hoisting winches and unloading hooks, are conceivable.

[0047] single point system, see Figure 3-6 , comprising a vessel or platform (13) with a standard davit (2) or crane mounted on deck, and a vessel (1) launched from or retrieved f...

Abstract

The present invention provides a system for launch and recovery of a vessel (1) from a host ship or platform (13), said host ship or platform comprising a lifting device (2) having at least one first lifting cable (9), characterized in that the vessel (1) comprises at least one fastening device (3), releasably connectable to said at least one first lifting cable (9), and at least one lifting winch (5) comprising a lifting winch cable (11), and at least one mast system comprising a mast (14) connected to at least one lifting winch (5) by one end of the corresponding lifting winch cable (11), said mast system being capable of raising the connected end of the lifting winch cable in a vertical direction. In addition, a vessel suitable for said system, and a method for launch and recovery of such a vessel, is provided.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a system for launching and / or recovering an unmanned waterborne vessel from a ship or platform, a method for launching and / or recovering such a vessel, and such a vessel suitable for use in said system. Background technique [0002] Unmanned waterborne vehicles, also known as USVs (Unmanned Surface Vehicles) or UUVs (Unmanned Underwater Vehicles), are increasingly required for applications such as in the marine industry and military. While at sea, USVs and UUVs are typically launched and retrieved from a mother ship. [0003] Safety is always a big concern during the launch and retrieval of various manned and unmanned vehicles. A manned vehicle has the distinct advantage of having a human on board who can perform the required connection between the vehicle and the mother ship, whereas with an unmanned vessel it is much more difficult to recover without a human on board. Many users, such as USV and UUV, currently use l...
