Problems solved by technology

[0004] However, sometimes it is not possible to question or weigh the patient, for example because the patient is unable to talk or stand in an acutely ill situation
In these cases, the best guess is to make a guess about the patient's weight, which can lead to an unnecessarily high burden on the patient or poor image quality

Embodiment Construction

[0030] exist figure 1 A device 1 for determining the patient mass of a patient 2 is shown in . The device 1 includes a patient table 4 with a table foot 6 and a table top 8 that is displaceable on the table foot 6 .

[0031]The device 1 additionally comprises two force sensors 10a and 10b. The force sensors 10 a , 10 b are each arranged on the ends of the table feet 6 in the (table) longitudinal direction 12 of the patient table 4 . The force sensors 10 a , 10 b are thus spaced apart from one another by a distance A which is determined by the dimension of the stand 6 in the longitudinal direction 12 . The device 1 further comprises a control unit 14, preferably in the form of a microcontroller. Control unit 14 is used to control the displacement of top 8 , to evaluate force sensors 10 a and 10 b and to determine the patient mass. In order to determine the patient mass, a (software) program 15 is stored in the control unit 14 by means of which the patient mass is determined...

Abstract

A force sensor (10a) is attached to table leg (6) of patient table (4) supported with patient (2). Two positions of the tabletop relative to table leg are determined. The force values are determined using force sensor based table top and patient masses. The balance position (XA) of table top is determined based on force values, in which total center of gravity (22) of table top and patient are in predetermined spatial relationship to force sensor. A balance-force value (KA) for balance position is determined due to tabletop mass and patient mass at location of force sensor. An independent claim is included for a device for determining of mass of patient.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for automatically determining the patient mass of a patient placed on a patient table and to a device for carrying out the method. Background technique [0002] In some areas of medical imaging technology, patient quality is an important factor. In x-ray-based methods, the radiation dose or the contrast agent dose to be used, for example, generally depends on the patient mass. In this case, knowledge of the patient quality as accurately as possible enables a precise adjustment of the radiation dose or contrast agent dose to the minimum required and thus has very little impact on the patient with sufficient image quality. [0003] Normally, the patient's mass is determined by the examiner at the time of prior admission of the imaging study patient by asking about the patient's mass or by weighing the patient with the aid of a weighing scale. Patient quality is then typically maintained in an electronic patient file in...
