An air flow meter is a device that measures air flow, i.e. how much air is flowing through a tube. It does not measure the volume of the air passing through the tube, it measures the mass of air flowing through the device per unit time. Thus air flow meters are simply an application of mass flow meters for a special medium. Typically, mass air flow measurements are expressed in the units of kilograms per second (kg/s).

Gaseous fuel burner

An ejector, such as a venturi, facilitates the delivery of gaseous fuel to the combustion chamber of a burner. A blower forces air through the ejector, and the air flow produces a suction that draws fuel from a fuel inlet to produce a fuel-air mixture. The amount of fuel drawn from the fuel inlet is a function of the air flow such that a substantially constant fuel-air ratio is obtained over a range of air flow rates and temperatures without the need for a separate high-pressure fuel pump. The fuel-air mixture may be provided to a combustion chamber for combustion. Air from the blower may be pre-heated prior to entering the ejector, for example, using a heat exchanger that recovers some of the heat from the combusted fuel-air mixture. Air flow through the ejector may be conditioned, for example, by a swirler, to produce a tangential air flow that can increase fuel flow by increasing air velocity across the fuel inlet and / or produce a swirl-stabilized flame in the combustion chamber. The combusted fuel-air mixture may be provided to a thermal load, such as an external combustion engine. Blower speed may be controlled manually or automatically to control power output. Fuel flow to the ejector can be controlled manually or automatically to control fuel-air ratio. The burner can be configured to operate with multiple fuel types, for example, using a fuel selector with fixed or variable restrictors.

The invention discloses a device for testing synthesis and decomposition parameters of hydrate sediment, which comprises a pressure chamber. The inlet end of the pressure chamber is provided with an air inlet flow meter, an injection pump and an ultrasonic transmitting end; the outlet end of the pressure chamber is provided with an ultrasonic receiving end, a gas-liquid separator and an air outlet flow meter; a TDR measurer and a plurality of detection points are arranged in the inner cavity of the pressure chamber along the length direction thereof; and the axial section where each detection point is positioned is provided with a temperature sensor and a pressure sensor. The device and a method thereof in the invention can acquire multiple basic parameters such as stress strain, seepage, heat, wave, content of each component and the like, and can provide different ambient pressures to simulate the pressure in the actual hydrate sediment stratum, wherein the maximum ambient pressure can reach 30MPa. The gas amount of the hydrate sediment in synthesis and decomposition can be measured by the fine flow meter. The device is lighter, has a small volume and is convenient to move; and the device can be conveniently put into other measurement devices such as CT, chromatograph and spectrometer for microcosmic real-time observation.

Air flow sensing and control for animal confinement system

A system for monitoring the environment in a rack having a plurality of cages for housing a plurality of laboratory animals, the rack receiving an input air flow from an external air supply unit through an input conduit, and exhausting an air flow output from an output conduit. The system may comprise a supply air system coupled to the input conduit for monitoring the input air flow to the rack in an input air flow direction. The supply air system may comprise a flow tube, through which the air flows, an air flow sensor located within the flow tube for determining the air flow rate taken at a location along the input air flow direction, and for providing an indication of the flow rate, an air flow stabilizer located within the flow tube at a location upstream from the flow sensor, for stabilizing the air flowing to the air flow sensor, and a microcontroller for receiving the indication of the determined air flow rate from the air flow sensor and for monitoring the air flow to the rack. Similarly, an exhaust air system coupled to the output conduit for monitoring the output air flow from the rack in an output air flow direction may be used instead of, or in conjunction with the supply air system. Further, the system may be implemented at either the rack or cage monitoring and/or control levels.

The intelligent control method is characterized in that a controller estimates current load by aid of a dissolved oxygen balancing model according to current dissolved oxygen concentration and change rate of each aeration tank, the needed air supply amount is estimated according to the estimated load and the current dissolved oxygen concentration, parameters of the air blower are adjusted so as to lead the total air supply amount of the air blower to be identical to the sum of the air supply amount needed by all the branch pipes, and simultaneously the opening degree of the valve arranged on each branch pipe can be adjusted so as to lead the air supply amount needed by all the aeration tanks to be identical to the flow amount fed back by the branch pipe air flow meter arranged on each branch pipe. The controller is used for gradually adjusting the parameters of the air blower so as to lead the largest opening degree of each branch pipe valve to be kept above the lowest set limit and further to lead pressure of the air supply header pipe to be the smallest.
