Abstract

The invention discloses a method for measuring and computing a forest stock volume parameter, which belongs to a method for measuring forest land and computing a forest stock volume parameter by a panoramic-scanning laser distance measuring sensor. The method comprises the following seven steps: firstly, scanning forest stands by the laser distance measuring sensor; secondly, acquiring diameters at breast height; thirdly, computing the basal area per hectare of the diameters at breast height; fourthly, computing the average diameter at breast height; fifthly, computing the density of trunks; sixthly, computing vegetation cover rates at different heights; and seventhly, acquiring the coordinate pattern of forest tree distribution space. Since a non-contact mode is adopted for measuring and computing the forest stock volume parameter, the method is rapid, convenient and accurate, and is high in efficiency, low in labor intensity and capable of obtaining the vegetation cover rates at different heights in the vertical direction, which can not be provided by an existing method; the method can be used for estimating the forest stock volume and the forest biomass as being combined with aerial remote sensing and space remote sensing information.
