Abstract

The invention discloses a system for early warning insulator pollution flashover. The system comprises a detection unit, a data processing unit and a pre-warning unit. The detection unit is arranged on an insulator, detects the content of the triple frequency harmonic in a leakage current of the insulator and sends the content of the triple frequency harmonic to the data processing unit. The data processing unit compares the data of the content of the triple frequency harmonic received from the detection unit with a preset value, and when the content of the triple frequency harmonic larger than the preset value, pre-warning signals are sent to the pre-warning unit. When the pre-warning unit receives the pre-warning signals, an insulator pollution flashover early warning is sent out. The invention further provides a method for early warning the insulator pollution flashover. Through the system and the method, the pollution condition of the insulator can be monitored more accurately, and therefore the flashover can be early warned about better, and large-scale accidents are prevented from occurring.
