Abstract

The invention relates to an electrical series terminal (1) and a series terminal block (100) with two series terminals (1) for machine building and industrial applications. The series terminal (1) has a first connection section (10) and a second connection section (20) and a functional area (2) between the first connection section (10) and the second connection section (20). The first connection section (10) is connected to the first functional contact (12) via an associated current bar (11). The second connecting section ( 20 ) is connected to the second functional contact ( 22 ) via an associated current bar ( 21 ). The functional area (2) is suitable and designed for selectively and alternately receiving and contacting different functional elements (3‑6). When the functional element (3) is inserted into the functional area (2), the functional element (3) can be connected with the first and the second functional contact (12, 22). Two connecting grooves (13, 14; 23, 24) are respectively arranged at the first and second connecting sections (10, 20) on the side of the functional area (2).
