The carrier gas device comprises a transformer, and is characterized by further comprising a gas filtering module, a miniature reciprocating piston air compressor, a gas drying module, a gas storing module, a control module and a carrier gas regenerating module, wherein a gas inlet port A of the gas filtering module is communicated with a transformer on-site environment through a gas pipe, a gas outlet end hole C of the gas filtering module is connected with a gas inlet port E of the miniature reciprocating piston air compressor through a gas pipe; a gas outlet port N of the gas storing module is connected with a gas inlet end of the monitoring device through a gas pipe. The carrier gas device is simple in structure, stable in performance and low in cost; carrier gas required by a gas monitoring device in transformer oil is made by using air in the transformer on-site environment, thus the maintenance cost and workload for periodically replacing a carrier gas bottle for the gas monitoring device in the transformer oil are reduced, and the sampling monitoring frequency and the monitoring stability of an existing monitoring device are favorably improved.
