Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for preparing an elastomeric silicone powder comprising the steps of:- (i] forming a mixture of organopolysiloxane A and organopolysiloxane B, wherein organopolysiloxane A comprises more than 0.5 % alkenyl groups by weight of the organopolysiloxane A, organopolysiloxane B comprises from 0.25% to 1 % silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms by weight of the organopolysiloxane B, and; (ii] spray curing the mixture of step (i] to form an elastomeric silicone powder.

Background technique [0001] Disclosed herein is a method of preparing an elastomeric silicone powder and uses of the elastomeric silicone powder, for example, for coatings and for personal care applications. [0002] When used in coating applications (for example, on surfaces such as wood or motor vehicle interiors), elastomeric silicone powders can provide a number of beneficial properties to the surface to which they are applied; for example: smoothness, slipperiness, slip resistance, Scratch resistance, mattifying without opacity.
