The invention discloses a digital watermark implementation method based on a time stamp, and a watermark embedding process comprises the following steps: a short message service center of a service provider employs a return address (TP-RA) and user information (TP-UD) to calculate RAND of a 128bit series through HUSH operation; an authentication center employs the RAND and the Ki of a target cellphone to calculate XRES of a 32bit series through an A3 algorithm; the short message service center employs the XRES to generate digital signatures with three intensities through unidirectional mapping operation; the short message service center enables the digital signatures to serve as watermarks inserted into the time stamp (TP-SCTS) of a PDU data package; and a receiving cellphone employs recognition software to detect the watermarks, and determines whether a short message is from the service operator or not. The method can guarantees the invisibility of the watermarks to a user, does not affect the contents of the short message, and can be directly used for a conventional GSM communication system.
