However, the inventive subject matter applies more broadly to any linear or non-linear electromagnetic actuator employing an electric coil to induce a magnetic field within a magnetic core resulting in an attractive force on a movable armature. Typical examples include fluid-controlled solenoid valves, gasoline or diesel or CNG fuel injectors employed on internal combustion engines, and non-fluid solenoid valve actuators for positioning and control.
