5 results about "Search coil" patented technology

The search coil magnetometer or induction magnetometer, based on an inductive sensor (also known as inductive loop and inductive coil), is a magnetometer which measures the varying magnetic flux due to Lenz's law. An inductive sensor connected to a conditioning electronic circuit constitutes a search coil magnetometer. It is a vector magnetometer which can measure one or more components of the magnetic field. A classical configuration uses three orthogonal inductive sensors. The search-coil magnetometer can measure magnetic field from mHz up to hundreds of MHz.

Integrated micro search coil magnetometer

A fully integrated micro search coil magnetometer (μSCM) with a low-noise instrumentation amplifier is provided for low-frequency magnetic field measurements in the range of 1Hz to 1kHz. A micro search coil formed by stacking planar spiral inductors and serially connecting them with an in-phase configuration is used for magnetic field measurements. The critical line width and inner diameter of a planar spiral inductor are theoretically calculated and experimentally verified, enabling the development of a unique CMOS layout. This layout incorporates the calculated critical inner diameter, significantly optimizing the area utilization on the CMOS die. Additionally, the CMOS die includes a polysilicon-layer inductor for on-chip calibration, a Hall effect sensor for DC magnetic field measurement, and a temperature sensor for enhanced functionality. The μSCM delivers a compact, energy-efficient, and highly sensitive solution for low-frequency magnetic field measurements, surpassing the performance of most commercially available Hall effect sensors.

WIRELESS POWER TRANSMITTER

A wireless power transmission device comprises power transmission coils, first search coils, second search coils, and a position sensing device. The position sensing device outputs a pulse signal to the first and second search coils and receives an echo signal from a power transmission device via the first and second search coils. The position sensing device detects the position of a power receiving coil of the power transmission device, which is placed on a loading platform, based on the detection voltages of the echo signal in the first and second search coils. When power is transmitted to the power receiving coil via one of the power transmission coils, the position sensing device sets the first and second search coils, as disabled coils, to be positioned within a predetermined distance of the power receiving coil.

Concealed metal detection system

A detection system is provided for detecting entry of a target object into a protected area. The detection system includes a control unit and a search coil assembly comprising a plurality of search coil units in electronic communication with the control unit and extending continuously around a perimeter of the protected area to define a detection zone. The plurality of search coil units each comprise a transmitting coil and a receiving coil, wherein the transmitting coil is adapted to transmit an electromagnetic signal of a predetermined value, and the receiving coil is adapted to receive the electromagnetic signal, thereby generating an electromagnetic field. The control unit is configured to identify and initiate an emergency response condition in response to variations in the electromagnetic field corresponding to entry of the target object into the protected area via the detection zone.

Hybrid ac / DC magnetometer with attitude determination and control system

A hybrid magnetometer and attitude determination and control system (hybrid magnetometer attitude determination and control system). Many scientific and commercial satellites in low-Earth orbit (LEO) use attitude determination and control systems that enable control and knowledge of the spacecraft's attitude (the orientation the spacecraft). The hybrid magnetometer and attitude determination and control system is a single package that can be integrated into small satellites, such as CubeSats, and consists of a three-axis search coil AC magnetometer and three-axis quad-mag DC magnetometer. The search coil sensors also act as torque rods for part of the orbit. Noise cancellation algorithms enable scientific grade magnetic measurements from the system without needing a sensor boom.
