277 results about "Magnetic detector" patented technology

The magnetic detector or Marconi magnetic detector, sometimes called the "Maggie", was an early radio wave detector used in some of the first radio receivers to receive Morse code messages during the wireless telegraphy era around the turn of the 20th century. Developed in 1902 by radio pioneer Guglielmo Marconi from a method invented in 1895 by New Zealand physicist Ernest Rutherford it was used in Marconi wireless stations until around 1912, when it was superseded by vacuum tubes. It was widely used on ships because of its reliability and insensitivity to vibration. A magnetic detector was part of the wireless apparatus in the radio room of the RMS Titanic which was used to summon help during its famous 15 April 1912 sinking.

Medical surgical sponge and instrument detection system and method

A magnetic detector locates magnetically tagged items, such as surgical sponges or instruments, introduced to and remaining in the body cavity of a surgical patient. The magnetic detector is a wand or probe that is manually handleable, and spatially manipulable and moveable, by an operator, such as a medical professional. The detector is moved about at a spatial location of an ambient magnetic field at the patient and operating table. A characteristic of the ambient magnetic field at the spatial location is saved by the detector. The detector is subsequently moved about at the same spatial location. If any magnetically tagged item is present in the vicinity of the detector during this subsequent movement at the spatial location, an anomalous magnetic effect is detected by comparison of the prior detection reading absent the tagged item to the detection reading in presence of the tagged item in the patient. The anomalous magnetic effect, and thus the tagged item, is locatable spatially in the patient, by three-dimensional sensor(s), arrays of sensors, and pluralities of arrays of sensors of the detector. The different detection readings with and without presence of the anomalous magnetic effect caused by presence of the tagged item in the patient are calculable as scalar, vector array, and / or gradient array determinations, according to the particular number and configuration of sensors in the detector.

Magnetic-field dynamic compensation system and methods based on spatial correlation

The invention relates to a magnetic-field dynamic compensation system and methods based on spatial correlation, wherein the system can realize the dynamic compensation of environment magnetic fields at the directions of three axles through a large set and a small set of Helmholtz coil racks and two fluxgate meters based on the spatial correlation of a PID (Proportion Integration Differentiation) negative feedback electronic circuit and the fluctuation of the environment magnetic fields. The invention further discloses three methods using the system, including (1) a proportioning type magnetic-field dynamic compensation method, (2) a series type integral magnetic-field dynamic compensation method, and (3) a parallel integral type magnetic-field dynamic compensation method. The system of the invention is easy to construct, has low cost and simple operation, and can achieve excellent dynamic compensation effect, and simultaneously, the methods can maximally eliminate the affects of the fluxgate meters to other magnetic detectors at the centers of coils, and have great application prospect in extremely-low field nuclear magnetic resonance, imaging thereof and other biological magnetic researches based on an SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device).

The invention discloses a method for detecting the mechanical system of a drilling machine well mouth drill stem flux leakage detector. The mechanical system comprises a clamp arm device and a permanent magnetic detector device, wherein the clamp arm device can be closed in a cylindrical shape; an accommodating part is arranged in the clamp arm device, and a detector connecting seat is arranged in the accommodating part; and the detector device is arranged on the detector connecting seat. The detection method comprises the following steps: rendering the clamp arm device in an open state and positioning the clamp arm device at the well mouth position of the drilling machine; closing the clamp arm device and placing the upper part of the drill stem at the position of the well mouth of the drilling machine in the accommodating part; lifting the drill stem along the axial direction of the drill stem, and performing the flux leakage type flaw detection of the drill stem by using the permanent magnetic detector device; and opening the clamp arm device and withdrawing the clamp arm device from the well mouth of the drilling machine. The method can detect the drill stem without current and therefore can be directly used at the well mouth of the drilling machine and used conveniently; in addition, the detector device realizes the flux leakage flaw detection in a round trip process at the well mouth of a petroleum drilling machine, the detector is safe and explosion-proof and the manual washing of the drill stem is avoided.
