The method includes the steps: according to system design requirements, determining an amount M of modes, services or functions needed to be supported by the system; according to the amount M, introducing M groups of short binary PNS sequences with excellent cross-correlation performances; according to OFDM characteristic parameters of the system, introducing a group of long binary PNL sequences, and generating OFDM basic signals on the basis of the long binary PNL sequences; adopting the short sequences for modulation of the OFDM basic signals to generate frame synchronization signals. The frame synchronization signals generated according to the method not only provide an accurate timing synchronization function but bear certain physical-layer information to provide simple, convenient and reliable detection means for a receiving end so as to meet multifunctional, multi-mode or multi-service requirements under complicated and severe power line channel environments.
