Abstract

The invention discloses a direct type backlight module which comprises a back frame (10) and at least two light bars, wherein the back frame (10) comprises a base plate (11) and inclined plates (12) arranged on the edges of the base plate (11); the included angle between each inclined plate (12) and the base plate (11) is an obtuse angle; the light bars are distributed on the base plate (11) at intervals; the distances between the edge light sources of the light bars and the edges of the corresponding inclined plates (12) which the light bars face towards are different. The invention further discloses a liquid crystal display comprising the direct type backlight module. According to the invention, first light sources on first light bars and second light sources on second light bars are arranged at unequal intervals, so that the problems of dark frames on the periphery and dark spots at corners, caused by dark areas at a bevel part between the inclined plates and the base plate of the back frame can be solved.
