Abstract

An optical line terminal (OLT) in a time and wavelength division multiplexing (TWDM) passive optical network (PON). The OLT includes a first optical port, a second optical port and a processor. The first optical port is used to couple to a plurality of optical network units (ONUs) through an optical distribution network (ODN). The second optical port is used to couple to the ONU through the ODN. The processor is coupled to the first optical port and the second optical port; the processor is configured to, when receiving an indication that the power loss of the first optical port after a period of time is greater than the power of the second optical port When the loss information is received, the OLT is caused to react, thereby allocating a first wavelength with power greater than the power of the second wavelength allocated to the second optical port to the first optical port.
