Abstract

The invention relates to a novel privacy protection method in a collaborative filtering recommendation system. According to a basic thought, the method comprises the steps of storing collected user score information and a generated user score set in a client function module; calculating the preference consistency in the client function module by utilizing a third-party score set generated by a recommendation center and the user score set; comparing the preference similarity between a user and a third party; and then calculating the user similarity by the recommendation center according to a preference consistency calculation result so as to obtain a similar user candidate set. During recommendation, the user sends a recommendation request to the recommendation center through the client function module, and the recommendation center selects a proper similar user from the similar user candidate set according to the recommendation request to finish the recommendation. The whole recommendation information is transmitted by using a designed recommendation information transportation protocol. The method can avoid the leakage of user privacy information caused by improper data collection, storage and analysis, and belongs to the field of computer network security.
