Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for recovering residual carbon content in hydrocarbon source rocks. The method comprises the steps of calculating initial-period porosity and random-evolution-period porosity in hydrocarbon source rocks at different depths; calculating the initial-period density and random-evolution-period density in the hydrocarbon source rocks at different depths; calculating hydrocarbon discharging efficiencies in the hydrocarbon source rocks at different depths; calculating initial-period weight of organic parent materials in the hydrocarbon source rocks at different depths and the accumulated content of generated product components in conversion to a random evolution period; and recovering the residual carbon content in the hydrocarbon source rocks at different depths according to the porosities, densities, hydrogen discharging efficiencies, the initial weight of the organic parent materials in the hydrocarbon source rocks and the accumulated content of the generated product components. The method and the device improve accuracy and efficiency in recovering the residual carbon content in the hydrocarbon source rocks, thereby improving credibility and accuracy in using the residual organic carbon (TOC) content as an effective hydrocarbon source rock determination standard.
