Abstract

The invention discloses application of tripterine and berberine to joint preparation of medicines for treating the metabolic syndrome. With fat C57 mice subjected to high-fat feeding modeling serving as research objects, experiment results show that even if in half dosage, a combination of the tripterine and the berberine can still succeed in remarkably reducing body weight and insulin resistance and improving lipid metabolism. Through joint application, dosages of both the tripterine and the berberine can be decreased, so that side effects of the tripterine and the berberine are reduced, and effects on reducing body weight remarkably, reducing insulin resistance and improving the lipid metabolism are achieved. Thus, the application provides wider use bases for monomers of the tripterine and the berberine and offers a new orientation to treatment of the metabolic syndrome.
