Abstract

A sun sensor and a sun direction vector determining method are disclosed. The sun sensor comprises sunlight sensing devices (100) and a sun direction vector calculator (200). The sunlight sensing devices (100) comprise output current collecting and controlling circuits, solar cell sheets (110) and supporting structures (120). The output current collecting and controlling circuits are respectively connected to the sun direction vector calculator (200) and the solar cell sheets (110). The supporting structures (120) have regular pentagonal pyramid stages (121). The top surface and five side surfaces of each of the regular pentagonal pyramid stages (121) are provided with the solar cell sheets (110). The number of the sunlight sensing devices (100) is two. The two sunlight sensing devices (100) are respectively mounted at two sides of a satellite. The regular pentagonal pyramid stages (121) of the two sunlight sensing devices (100) are parallel and opposite to each other.
