Abstract

The invention provides an OLED display apparatus and a method of reducing OLED display apparatus power consumption. The method is characterized by calculating an APL value of a display frame of a display panel; according to whether the APL value is changed, determining whether the display frame is a static state frame; when the display frame is the static state frame, according to the APL value of the static state frame, calculating and acquiring corresponding static time; and according to differences of the APL values of the static state frame, determining different time points of entering into an energy saving mode so as to realize a condition that the energy saving mode can be entered into earlier if the APL value is high, wherein the APL value is high means that brightness of the static state frame is high. Compared to the prior art, by using the method of the invention, power consumption can be greatly saved. The OLED display apparatus can determine the different time points of entering into the energy saving mode according to different brightness levels of the static state frame.
