Abstract

The invention provides a composite wastewater treatment adsorbent and a preparation method thereof. The method includes steps: (1) mixing sepiolite, rectorite and attapulgite, drying, grinding, and filtering through a 120-mesh screen to remove large particles; (2) calcining in a muffle furnace; (3) cooling, adding acetic acid and deionized water, and stirring; (4) filtering, cleaning with distilled water, drying, grinding, and filtering through a 200-mesh screen to remove large particles; (5) adding nano silicon dioxide, maize germ powder, coconut shell powder, guar gum and deionized water, stirring, and well mixing to obtain globules; (6) drying the globules, and immersing in a solution of boric acid and deionized water; (7) taking the globules out, and immersing in a solution of sodium borohydride and absolute ethyl alcohol. The composite wastewater treatment adsorbent is high in COD removal rate and Cu<2+> and Pb<2+> removal rate, effective in treatment of wastewater containing heavy metal ions and excellent in decoloration effect.
