The method comprises the following steps: dividing a bus route to be predicated into a plurality of sub-road sections; carrying out classification on the sub-road sections, and calculating average velocity and pre-estimating arrival time; by making full use of continuously-updated bus driving data, constructing a function relation between estimated time and actual time, and detecting accuracy of the function relation in real time, that is, error between the estimated time and the actual time; and when the accuracy is not high, introducing the genetic algorithm into a closed loop to modify adjustment parameters in the function relation, and finally, determining time of arrival in the downstream site.
