Abstract

The invention provides a rock triaxial tension-compression test apparatus being used in a triaxial compression test machine, and a use method thereof. The apparatus includes a frame I, a frame II, a connection plate, a pull head I, a pull head II, and a bottom board. The frame II can be moved vertically so as to convert vertical pressure of the test machine into pulling stress on a test sample. During test, the test sample is adhered to the pull heads by super glue and is coated by a heat-shrink tube; and then confining pressure and vertical pulling force are applied, and the test system is powered-off immediately when the test sample is broken. The confining pressure on the test sample is supplied by a confining pressure loading system of the test machine and the vertical pulling force is supplied by a vertical loading system of the test machine. The test apparatus has accurate test result and low test cost, can be used for carrying out rock tensile test under any confining pressure, and has wide application prospect.
