Abstract

The glass fiber impregnating compound comprises a coupling agent, a lubricant, an unsaturated polyester emulsion, a polyvinyl acetate emulsion, an epoxy emulsion, a polyurethane emulsion, a pH value regulating agent and water. The content of each of the above components is studied in the invention. The glass fiber impregnating compound provided by the invention can change the physical and chemical properties of the surface of glass fiber, effectively improves the flowability and splitting performance of the glass fiber, and enhances the compatibility of the glass fiber with matrix resin; and a prepared SMC product has the characteristics of uniform glass fiber distribution, a smooth surface without lines, good mechanical properties, etc. The invention also provides application of the glass fiber impregnating compound to manufacturing of grid beams.
