When the instruction is executed by the processor, a plurality of operations performed by the processor include the following steps: monitoring a physical layer device in the server and at least one network connector connected to the physical layer device, wherein the physical layer device is operable to exchange data between at least one media access controller and the network connector; determining the state of the physical layer device or the status of the network connector so as to indicate a warning or a fault; and transmitting a warning signal corresponding to a warning or a fault to the cabinet management controller.
