Abstract

The invention provides an automatic finding method and device for a distributed access multiplexer (DAM) stacked network entity. Routing information is exchanged between the network entities via BGP messages; the BGP message can be a UPDATE message comprising a plurality of attributes to support routing information exchange between the network entities; a mapping table between virtual network examples and corresponding network virtualization channels is generated, and a stacking channel between the network entities is built according to the table. The UPDATE message can comprise an MP_REACH_NLRI attribute used for releasing information of reachable target networks and corresponding next-hop information and transmitting the context identifier of a virtual network under the virtual network example; a two-layer VPN identifier extension group attribute used for identifying the specific virtual network example in a DAM system; and a BGP packaging extension group attribute used for indicating channel type of channel packaging. The method and the device provided by the invention can support deployment of an access module at the position close to a user and virtualization of a central module, the provided automatic finding signaling mechanism can coexist with existing L2VPN / VPLS signaling, and sustainability of equipment is enhanced.
