Abstract

The invention discloses a timing synchronization method based on an MIMO-OFDM (multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system. The timing synchronization method includes the steps: (1) simultaneously receiving data by receiving antennas, converging the data into an FPGA (field programmable gate array) and ensuring data alignment; (2) defining fine synchronization and coarse synchronization timing measurement by a short training sequence, and judging arrival of grouped data according to fine synchronization and coarse synchronization results; (3) analyzing frame synchronization results in the step (2) and jointly judging whether the MIMO-OFDM system has the grouped data or not; (4) acquiring initial positions of data symbols according to judgment results in the step (3) and calculation results in the step (2). The influence of frame synchronization time difference caused by synchronization threshold value setting on symbol synchronization is considered, threshold value setting difficulty is reduced, and timing synchronization accuracy is improved.
