Abstract

The invention provides a data storage method. The method comprises the steps of writing data in a write request into an available cache block when the write request is received, and returning a write success message to an application server; obtaining an LUN identifier, an LBA starting address and a data length corresponding to the data written in the cache block; if an on-demand distribution switch of the LUN identifier is in an on state and a mapping unit corresponding to the LBA starting address and the data length in an index table of the LUN identifier does not record a storage space identifier, distributing a storage space to the mapping unit from an available storage space, and recording the distributed storage space identifier in the mapping unit; and writing the data in the cache block into the storage space corresponding to the LBA starting address and the data length. According to the method, the data is stored in a cache, IO return is immediately performed, and background disk writing is performed; and the background disk writing process does not influence the IO return, so that the IO delay caused by the storage space of a low-performance layer can be shortened and the initial IO performance of an LUN can be improved.
