The invention discloses a method for interplanting stipa grandis in an urban garden in a saline and alkaline area. The method comprises steps as follows: 1) selection of cultivation land: broad-leaved forest land in the saline and alkaline area at the altitude of 2-5 m is selected, and 20% of river sand is mixed in top soil; 2) stipa grandis seeds are sown in the early April in the spring, land preparation is performed carefully, the land is covered with fine soil at the thickness of 0.5 cm after sowing so that water in the soil is maintained to range from 30% to 40%, and mulch film covering for heat preservation and moisture maintenance is performed; 3) watering is performed once after seedlings emerge, the water content of the soil is maintained to range from 35% to 50%; 4) mulching films are removed when the daily average temperature reaches 15 DEG C in the late April and the early May , watering is performed once every month to keep the water content of the soil to range from 35% to 45%, and fertilizer is applied to mainly supplement phosphorus and potassium fertilizer; 5) harvesting is performed from the end July and the early August, and alternatively, fallen caryopses are harvested in the early November. With the adoption of the method, the growth time of stipa grandis can be prolonged remarkably, and a higher yield can still be obtained in the broad-leaved forest.
