The method comprises the following steps of sending a remote operation request to a server by a terminal, wherein the remote operation request is used for requesting to carrying out a remote operation on a to-be-downloaded target application program on an application platform, and the target application program is not installed on the terminal; receiving program information, returned by the server, of the target application program by the terminal, wherein the target application program is operated on the server in response to the remote operation request, and the target application program is installed on the server; sending a remote operation instruction to the server by the terminal on the basis of the program information, wherein the remote operation instruction is used for instructing to operate the target application program operated on the server; and the terminal receives a remote operation result returned by the server, and the remote operation result is obtained through operating the operated target application program. By adoption of the method and device, function information of application programs can be correctly provided through a program trial manner.
