According to the method, normal power consumption of the terminal during running of a target application in a CPU normal mode is determined according to a mapping relationship between the application and the power consumption; the endurance power consumption of the terminal duringrunning of the target application in a CPU endurance mode is determined; the normal power consumption is compared with the endurance power consumption; and according to a comparison result, the subsequent CPU performance of the terminal is controlled, so that the problem of poor power consumption endurance caused by increment of power consumption and prolonging of system response time due to jamming caused by direct reduction of CPU performance in the prior art is solved.
