The method comprises the steps of performing related processing on denoised data to obtain details in an optical fiber signal; extracting featuresin the optical fiber signal; performing feature extraction on multiple pieces of OTDR data, taking obtained eigenvectors as training samples of an improved SVM algorithm, and inputting the samples toan SVM classifier for training to obtain a model capable of being used for identifying the features of the OTDR data, wherein the features of the OTDR data can reflect the features of the optical fiber; and finally realizing a classification function of special positions of the optical fiber: applying the model to classification of a welding point, a breaking point, a starting end, a tail end andan over-bending point of the optical fiber. Through a measure learning method, a Gaussian radial machine kernel function is improved, so that the algorithm convergence speed is increased, the prediction precision is improved, and the reliability of optical fiber monitoring is improved.
