The all-in-one machine comprises a PLC module, an HMI module, a first SPI interface and a second SPI interface. The first SPI interface is connected with the PLC module and the HMI module, and the second SPI interface is connected with the HMI module and the PLC module. The method comprises the steps of: initiating communication from a first host, and transmitting communication data to a first slave through the first SPI interface; initiating communication froma second host, and transmitting communication data to a second slave through the second SPI interface, wherein the communication data meets an ModBus protocol and does not comprise function codes andslave station numbers. The two SPI interfaces are provided at the aspect of hardware to achieve two-way transmission of the data with no need for differentiating 'reading' or 'writing-in', and the data transmission efficiency can be doubled; and moreover, optimized data frames are employed at the aspect of software to reduce the number of bytes in the transmission of the data frames so as to improve the communication rate and totally achieve the purpose of improving the communication efficiency of the all-in-one machine through combination of the HMI and the PLC.
