The system comprises a bridge crane, hoisting equipment and horizontal-moving traction equipment,wherein the hoisting equipment and the horizontal-moving traction equipment are arranged on a girder rail of the bridge crane and are connected for being pulled and controlled by the horizontal-moving traction equipment to horizontally move; after a heavy object is hoisted to certain height by the hoisting equipment, and the horizontal-moving traction equipment is started for pulling and longitudinally horizontally moving the heavy object to a preset position, a transverse travelling mechanism of the bridge crane is started for transversely and horizontally moving the heavy object to an in-place position, and finally, the hoisting equipment is started for descending the heavy object to the position. The hoisting equipment and the horizontal-moving traction equipment for driving the hoisting equipment and the heavy object to realize a position adjusting function are arranged on the girder of the bridge crane, so that the defect of hoisting the heavy object by an existing bridge type crane system is solved, and therefore, the heavy object horizontal-moving system, which is simple in structure for hoisting, horizontal-moving and in-place work, and a horizontal-moving method thereof are realized.
