Abstract

Automatic generation of document templates based on recognized patterns of constituent elements in documents associated with a user is provided. The constituent elements used in a document are usually unique to a particular user or to a group of users. The automatic template generation system detects patterns of constituent elements in documents associated with the user, and generates and provides one or more useful and relevant templates comprising a subset of constituent elements consistent with those used in previously created documents constituent elements. Generating document templates based on patterns of constituent elements in documents associated with a user improves user experience and reduces bandwidth, memory, and processing power usage for reusing constituent elements between documents. Additionally, providing user-specific templates helps ensure consistency across documents created by users.
