Abstract

In a communication network, a first participant (14) transmits a clocked data sequence to a second participant (16). The data sequence includes a writing datagram with a header (420), an intermediatefield (430) which follows the header, and a data field (440) which follows the intermediate field. The second participant reads the header, determines input data on the basis of the content of the header, and writes the input data into the data field (440) while the data sequence is ran through the second participant.
