Vascular access systems for performing hemodialysis are disclosed. Some embodiments relate to vascular access grafts comprising an instant access or self-sealing material reinforced with expanded PTFE to resist stretching of the instant access material and thereby resist leakage associated with stretching or bending. The graft may comprise two end segments comprising ePTFE without the instant access material to allow easier anastomosis of the graft to veins and arteries. The graft may have a unibody design or have modular components that may be joined together to create a graft with customized length or other features. One or more sections of the graft may also be cut or trimmed to a custom length.

An article includes a knitted component. The knitted component includes a knit element that is configured to stretch between a neutral position and a stretched position. The knitted component also includes a tensile strand. The tensile strand is at least partially inlaid within the knit element. The tensile strand includes a portion that is arranged as a stretch limiter element that is configured to move between a slack position and a taut position as the knit element moves between the neutral position and the stretched position. The stretch limiter element is in the slack position when the knit element is in the neutral position, and the stretch limiter element is in the taut position when the knit element is in the stretched position to prevent stretch of the knit element beyond the stretched position.

Devices and methods having a cooling material and reduced pressures to treat biological external tissue using at least one energy source are disclosed. The cooling material may be water, ethyl alcohol, and/or any other material having a vapor pressure below atmospheric pressure. The energy source may be incoherent light, coherent light, a radio frequency, ultrasound, a laser, and/or any other type of energy that can be applied through the device. The features of various embodiments of the device include the generation of positive pressure and/or negative pressure through one or more pressure conduits, the application of an object within a recess of the device, and measurements through various sensors on the device. These sensors may be monitored and/or controlled through a display element having rows and columns of pixels on the device. The device may be a handheld device or an add-on to existing devices in some embodiments, and may include skin color sensors, temperature sensors, motion sensors, vapor pressure sensors, material sensors, and/or capacitance sensors.

An articulated patient support apparatus includes upper and lower body support frames hinged together to form a patient support assembly which is hinged to head and foot end supports. One end of the assembly includes a length compensator to enable hinged angulation between the body support frames. Hinge motors are connected between the frames to cause hinged articulation therebetween. One or both of the body support frames has a body slide assembly mounted thereon to enable part of a patient's body to move linearly along the particular body support frame by operation of a slide motor to compensate for hinged articulation of the frames. Absorbent articles with carefully controlled stretch properties are disclosed. In particular, the absorbent articles have a percentage of stretch in the lateral direction at the widest portion in the front region of the article and/or in the back region in the range of from about 25% to about 150%. Additionally, at least about 70% of the above stretch resides in a first edge zone and in a second edge zone of the chassis. The first edge zone and the second edge zone are separated by a middle zone. The middle zone, which has the same length as each edge zone, is stretchable, but to a lesser extent than the edge zones. Through this construction, the absorbent article exhibits improved fit and appearance. Of particular advantage, the carefully controlled stretch properties prevent sagging or drooping of the crotch region, even after the crotch region has been wetted.

A modular submersible video viewing system. The system includes a viewing monitor, multi-conductor cable and camera that store at a portable housing and deploy for underwater viewing. The camera can be submersed for stationary viewing, towed from a watercraft or manipulated with an operator pole. The camera can be secured with clips or bottom support plates in various orientations or be secured to a swivel coupler and steering guide and/or pole. Absorbent articles with carefully controlled stretch properties are disclosed. In particular, the absorbent articles have a percentage of stretch in the longitudinal direction from the midpoint of the crotch region to a front waistband and/or to a back waistband in the range of from about 5% to about 30%. Additionally, about 80% of the above stretch resides in a front waist zone and/or in a back waist zone. Through this construction, the absorbent article exhibits improved fit and appearance. Of particular advantage, the carefully controlled stretch properties prevent sagging or drooping of the crotch region, even after the crotch region has been wetted.

The invention discloses a rotating shaft mechanism which comprises a rotating shaft group, fixing parts and sliding parts, wherein the rotating shaft group comprises at least two parallelly arranged rotating shafts; the fixing parts are disposed on the two sides of the rotating shaft group; and the sliding parts are used for connecting the rotating shaft group with the fixing parts and at least disposed on one side of the rotating shaft group. When the rotating shafts at the symmetric positions are close to or far away from each other, due to the action of the sliding parts, the distance between the rotating shaft group and the fixing parts changes in the length direction of the rotating shaft mechanism. According to the rotating shaft mechanism, the sliding parts and the fixing parts are additionally arranged on the basis of an original rotating shaft mechanism. The applied seam tape comprises a top layer, a reinforcing layer and an adhesive layer melted through the reinforcing layer and connecting the top layer to the fabric panels over the weld bead. The narrow weld bead and the small seam allowance of the fabric panels it joins allows the seam tape to be secured over the weld bead to the fabric panels while lying in a flat plane.
