The method comprises the steps of 1, shooting image information of the to-be-detected electricity meter by frames, obtaining a high-resolution image by adopting a line-by-line scanning method, and generating to-be-processed original image data; 2,according to target region locating, segmenting the collected image, segmenting a target region by adopting an edge-based image segmentation method, extracting single character images, and generatinga to-be-identified character set; 3, comparing the segmented image information with stored information, judging whether the appearance structure of the electricity meter is intact or not and display parameters are normal or not, and generating an identification result; and 4, according to the identification result, performing statistics on analysis data, generating a detection report and uploadingthe detection report to an upper computer.
