Abstract

The invention relates to a perception-based high dynamic range video dynamic range scalable coding method, and utilizes visual perception to remove coding redundancy, thereby improving the efficiency of the dynamic range scalable coding. First, a dynamic range scalable model based on tone mapping is proposed, which decomposes the HDR video into an SDR video and multiple RSFs sequences; then, considering the perceptual characteristics, two schemes based on information entropy analysis and content segmentation are proposed respectively, according to the SDR video frame The content is perceptually filtered on the RSFs; finally, the SDR video and HDR video displayed on the MDR display device are reconstructed at the decoding end. Compared with previous research work, our method considers the effect of tone mapping operation in video coding and combines perceptual properties to better handle RSFs.
