The method comprises the steps of extracting features of each video frame; judging types of the features, wherein the types reflect time domain correlation degree between the features and reference features; coding the features in preset coding modes matching the types, thereby obtaining coded features; and sending the coded features to a server, thereby enabling the server to decode the coded features, wherein the decoded features are used for visual analysis tasks. Through utilization of the embodiment of the invention, a video does not need to be sent to the cloud server, and the features of the video are coded and then are sent to the cloud server for the visual analysis tasks. Comparedwith the prior art, the method, the device and the system have the advantages that data transmission pressure can be reduced, and storage pressure of the cloud server also can be reduced.
