Abstract

In a method for producing vehicles, vehicle bodies (10) are conveyed through multiple system zones (12.i, 14.i, 18.i, 20.i) of a production system (8) in order to produce vehicles. Different types ofwork are carried out on the vehicle bodies (10) in two respective system zones (12.i, 12.i+1; 14.i, 14.i+1; 18.i, 18.i+1; 20.i, 20.i+1) which follow each other. The vehicle bodies (10) are conveyed through the system zones (20.i) of the surface treatment system (16) at least from a corrosion protection treatment to a final assembly using one and the same conveyor system (22) in a surface treatmentsystem (16) for treating the surface of the vehicle bodies (10). Additionally, a surface treatment system (16) is provided for treating the surface of vehicle bodies (10), comprising multiple systemzones (20.i), and the vehicle bodies (12) are treated in a different manner in two respective system zones (20.1, 20.1+1) which follow each other. The surface treatment system (16) is designed such that the vehicle bodies (10) can be conveyed through the system zones (20.i) of the system (16) using one and the same conveyor system (22).
