Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a knob assembly for a cooktop. The knob assembly includes: a front panel; a knob located at a front side of the front panel and configured to rotate based on a user's manipulation; a knob shaft coupled to the knob and extending through the front panel; a support tube, which receives the knob shaft and supports the knob shaft, the support tube is configured to maintain a position relative to the front panel; a valve, which is configured to control the gas supply to the appliance; a valve shaft, which connected to the valve and configured to control the valve to adjust gas flow based on rotation of the valve shaft; and a joint coupling the knob shaft to the valve shaft and configured to connect the knob shaft At least one of rotational motion or linear motion is transferred to the valve shaft.
