Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of melon gene breeding development and particularly relates to an APRR2 gene related to green peel traits of melons. The gene is 1134bp in length and related to the green character of melon peel, and a base sequence is shown as SEQ ID NO.1. In addition, the invention also provides an indel molecular marker for detecting the APRR2 gene. On the basis of asix-generation genetic population constructed by yellow peel and green peel materials, the genetic law of melon peel colors is preliminarily analyzed, and finally the gene closely related to the formation of melon green peel is determined. Furthermore, it is found that a 13 bp basic group insertion of the gene exists in white and yellow melon peel materials, and an indel marker is designed on thebasis. In conclusion, the molecular marker can be used for early selection in melon peel color breeding, and on the basis of the related research results of the application, a certain foundation canbe laid for the breeding of new melon varieties.
