Abstract

The invention discloses a positioning system and method for compensating a timing error of a positioning tag. The positioning system judges whether all the positioning tags transmit positioning signals in the current positioning period or not according to the time and number of the positioning signals which are transmitted by the positioning tags and received by the positioning base in the currentpositioning period, and adjusts the duration of the timing adjustment period according to the judgment result. Further, the timing error of the positioning tag is compensated by utilizing the time length of executing the null instruction by the single chip microcomputer; the problem that when the timing precision of the positioning tag is poor, the positioning time slot recorded by the positioning tag and the positioning time slot recorded by the synchronous controller have a deviation, so that part of the positioning tag cannot transmit a positioning signal in the positioning time slot distributed for the positioning tag by the positioning system is solved. On the basis of low power consumption and low cost of the positioning tag, the positioning tag has high timing precision, so that apositioning signal is smoothly transmitted in a positioning time slot of the positioning tag, and the positioning system can position the positioning tag.
