Embodiment Construction

[0156] figure 1 A modern wind turbine 1 is shown comprising a wind turbine tower 2, a nacelle 3 arranged on top of the wind turbine tower 2 and a rotor defining a rotor plane. The nacelle 3 is connected to the wind turbine tower 2 eg via a yaw bearing unit. The rotor comprises a hub 4 and several wind turbine blades 5 . Three wind turbine blades are shown here, but the rotor may comprise more or less wind turbine blades 5 . The hub 4 is connected via a rotating shaft to a drive train, eg a generator, located in the wind turbine 1 .

[0157] The hub 4 comprises a mounting interface for each wind turbine blade 5 . A pitch bearing unit 6 is optionally connected to this mounting interface and further to the blade root of the wind turbine blade 5 .

[0158] figure 2 A schematic view of a wind turbine blade 5 is shown which extends longitudinally from the blade root 7 to the tip 8 . The wind turbine blade 5 further extends chordwise from the leading edge 9 to the trailing edg...

Abstract

This invention relates to a noise reducing device, a wind turbine blade comprises such a noise reducing device, a method of retrofitted a noise reducing device, and a method of manufacturing such a noise reducing device. The noise reducing device comprises first noise reducing elements projecting from a base part having a third surface towards a second end. Second noise reducing elements are attached to the third surface and projects along the first noise reducing elements towards the second end. The first noise reducing elements are preferably serrations while the second noise reducing elements are bristles. The bristles projects at least into the gaps formed between adjacent serrations.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a noise reduction device for a wind turbine blade having a first end, a second end, a first side surface and a second side surface, wherein the noise reduction device comprises a A base member, at least one array of first noise reducing elements extending from the proximal end to the second end, and at least one array of second noise reducing elements disposed relative to the first noise reducing elements. [0002] The invention further relates to a wind turbine blade with at least one noise reduction device as described above. The invention also relates to a method of retrofitting a noise reduction device and a method of manufacturing a noise reduction device. Background technique [0003] It is well known that the large wind turbine blades of modern wind turbines are affected by trailing edge noise generated by the airflow past the aerodynamic profile of the wind turbine blade. The airflow transitions from a substan...
