The invention relates to an EMD-based method for extracting impact features of a piston engine, mainly utilizing the advantages of the EMD method in adaptively decomposing nonlinear and non-stationary signals, decomposing and reconstructing engine vibration signals, and removing low-correlation parts; Then use the distribution characteristics of the engine vibration signal to calculate the impact judgment threshold value to solve the problem of signal differences caused by different working conditions, and the single fixed threshold value judgment error problem; finally, compare the impact times, impact peak value, and impact duration of all cylinders of the engine width, to effectively extract abnormal cylinders.
