Embodiment Construction

[0012] like figure 1 As shown, the device used in the present invention includes: a couple-in grating 1, that is, a coupling grating, an optical waveguide substrate 2, a special grating 3, and a couple-out grating 4, that is, a coupling grating.

[0013] The method for specifically realizing the enhancement of the light intensity uniformity of the optical waveguide of the AR glasses includes the following steps:

[0014] 1. Through detection or theoretical calculation, it is found that there is a secondary reflection of light in a certain range of incident angles (a=1.92 to b=1.57) in the couple-in grating area. The unit of angle is radians, that is, 180 degrees corresponds to π; a certain Light in the range of incident angles (b=1.57 to c=1.40) does not have secondary reflection in the couple-in grating area, and the light intensity loss ratio loss=0.1 due to secondary reflection is obtained.

[0015] 2. Calculate or measure the first reflection area (AB) of the substrate af...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method of enhancing optical waveguide intensity uniformity of a pair of AR glasses. According to the method, in a first reflection region of light which leaves a couple-in grating region, a special grating with a light dividing function is made for the light (without secondary energy loss) within an incident angle range (from b to c), wherein the special grating has a partial diffraction luminous effect on the light within the incident angle range (from b to c), so that reflection energy of the light within the incident angle range (from b to c) in an optical waveguide substrate is lowered, the energy of the light within the incident angle range (from b to c) is consistent with that of the light within an angle range (from a to b), and therefore the optical waveguide intensity uniformity of the AR glasses is enhanced. Through the method, the special grating is adopted and has the partial diffraction luminous effect on the light within the incident angle range, so that the intensity of the part of light is controlled, and the optical waveguide intensity uniformity is enhanced. The method has the advantages of being simple, convenient to use, stable and thelike.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of augmented reality technology (AR), in particular to a method for enhancing the light intensity uniformity of an optical waveguide of AR glasses. Background technique [0002] AR is a technology that combines real and virtual images, videos, and 3D model applications. The goal of this technology is to put the virtual world on the screen and interact with the real world. At present, companies such as Google and Microsoft have launched commercialized AR glasses, leading the development and application of AR technology. [0003] AR glasses based on optical waveguides are currently one of the most promising AR glasses for large-scale applications. Due to its small structure, light weight and powerful optical functions, the optical waveguide is the core device for realizing portable AR glasses. At present, optical waveguides based on gratings (such as couple-in gratings, couple-out gratings, folding gratings, etc.) are...
