The selenium-rich salviae miltiorrhizae beverage comprises salviae miltiorrhizae extract, food-grade sodium selenite and water, wherein the mass ratio of the water to the salviae miltiorrhizae extract is larger than 20:1, and the mass ratio of the water to the food-grade sodium selenite is 108:(1-44); the salviae miltiorrhizae extract is prepared by crushing salviae miltiorrhizae, mixing the crushed salviae miltiorrhizae with water, heating the mixture at 120-140 DEG C for 1-3 hours and separating the heated mixture in a centrifugal separator. The production method includes: mixing the salviae miltiorrhizae extract, the food-grade sodium selenite and the water, and sterilizing at the temperature not higher than 150 DEG C and the pressure smaller than 0.5MPa for at least 15 minutes; filtering the sterilized mixed liquid to obtain the selenium-rich salviae miltiorrhizae beverage.
